- SUSPENSION BRIDGE AT MINERAL SPRINGS, BLACKWOOD. circa 1910. The presence of Mineral Water was said to have been discovered by the Chinese miners in Blackwood. The first wooden bridge was built in 1889 and was washed away in a flood in 1909.The rotunda over the far Iron Spring pictured was first built in 1891.

- BRITISH LION MINE, BARRYS REEF BLACKWOOD. CIRCA 1909. The Mine was working in 1886 where 6 men made a fortune with 560 ozs. of gold obtained from one crushing. In 1906 the Mining Registrar’s returns was 1,1097 ozs. of gold obtained to 200 feet from the surface.
